Public Policy Internship

The Pathways to Success Public Policy Internship is designed to empower young adults to become leaders in their community through connection and service to political campaigns. The internship would require 40 hours of self chosen service to local campaigns for the upcoming November elections.

Eligible Group: High School Junior to Senior in College 

​

What kind of work would an Intern be doing? 

  • Founding and Running Progressive Student Club 

  • Canvassing or Organizing Canvassing Days Out 

  • Postcarding or Organizing Postcard Drives

  • Helping at Phone Banks 

  • Graphic Design Assignments 

  • Voter Registration Drives 

  • Social Media Helpers 

  • Any Intern Proposed Projects Open for Approval

For those interns who complete and log (with signatures) the 40 hours of service will be eligible to apply for scholarships based on their internship work after the elections.

The application includes:

  • Basic Personal and Contact Information 

  • List of Extracurricular Activities and brief descriptions (Last 2 Academic Years)

  • List of Leadership Positions and brief descriptions (Last 2 Academic Years)

  • List of Community Service and brief descriptions (Last 2 Academic Years)

  • List of Awards  and brief descriptions (Last 2 Academic Years)

  • Two Paragraph Essay 

    • Prompt: ​"Why are you interesting in the Pathways to Success Public Policy Internship? If chosen as an intern, what work would you be interested in accomplishing?" 

  • Two Letters of Recommendation - emailed to pathwaystosuccess23@gmail.com with the applicants name in the subject line by Sept. 5th. 

    • One must be from a teacher, academic mentor, counselor, or someone who can speak to your values as a student.

    • One letter must be from a extracurricular leader, community service leader, program leader, religious mentor, employer, or someone who may speak to your character as a person.
